Off-Screen Missions Alphabet Soup

Kidfic Alphabet Soup is still missing several cooks. If you are interested in writing at least 100 words of gen kidfic (the gen interpretation is strict, but the kidfic interpretation can be as broad as you'd like), please comment at this entry so you can get a letter.

I have written an appetizer to the Soup, which was supposed to be a bit fluffy and veered rather abruptly into horror with a dose of angst. You can read it here: Camouflage.

The Alphabet Soup series has been an ongoing, semi-regular gen ficathon for years now. This summer is the twentieth one, featuring stories that take place off-world.

There are still two letters left to claim. If you are interested in writing at least 100 words of gen fic that takes place, please comment at this link to sign up. The Soups are archived here on DW, but signups are on LJ; if that's a problem for you, comment here and I'll be happy to assist.

The Alphabet Soup anthologies are irregular SG-1 gen mini-ficathons that take place one to three times a year. There have been seventeen to date, all of which can be found here.

The current Alphabet Soup is friendship related. Participants choose a letter and a friendship and commit themselves to writing at least 100 words of friendship-based gen fic by November 4th.

There are still eight letters left to claim. If you are interested in participating, please go to this entry and sign up. New cooks are always welcome. :)

New gen fic: Crossing the Line. ~1,200 words. PG. Ra may have punished Nagada, but Sha'uri isn't ready to abandon her newfound knowledge just yet. An expanded scene from Stargate: the Movie.

Also, we're having Allies Alphabet Soup next month, and the letter G has still not been claimed. If you're interested in writing at least 100 words of gen fic on one of the SGC's allies by February 18th, please go to the claims post over on LJ and put that poor G out of its misery. :)

Today is SG-1 Gen Fic Day over at my journal. All and sundry are encouraged to link to old and new fanworks, both their own and others -- fic, recs, meta, picspam, vids -- anything, as long as it's gen and related to SG-1.

The unofficial theme of the day is SGC personnel (outside of SG-1), but we'll happily take anything. :)

Much of the action will likely be taking place on LJ, but I'll be doing a roundup of all links tomorrow, and of course, the SGC Alphabet Soup anthology will be posted complete and unabridged here on DW as soon as it's all submitted.

sg1genrecs is currently running Vala recs under the valuable Vala theme. If you know of some good gen Vala fics, we'd love to see them recced -- and if you're celebrating Mother's Day today, why not rec a story about Vala's relationship with Adria? (Admittedly more dysfunctional than most mother-daughter relationships...)

Bra'tac (and Jaffa) Alphabet Soup is currently open for signups. About half the letters have been claimed. If you are interested in writing a minimum of 100 words on Bra'tac or any other Jaffa (including OCs or Teal'c within the context of the Jaffa rather than SG-1) by the end of June, please comment at this post on LJ (the anthology will be archived here on DW).
